Someone shared here that she had the “God is Bigger Than the Boogieman” song going through her head as a result of some of the stuff here at the blog. So I couldn’t resist a little levity. From someone else’s channel at YouTube…
This may seem like a silly song, but the truth of it is…if I believed this, if you believed this…that God is truly bigger than whatever we face, it *would* affect our lives! Most definitely!
Bringing it home: Today, select an attribute of God that you can choose to praise him for. Praise him now and then every time a phone rings today. Just take a moment when you hear a phone ring to praise God for that chracteristic of his character.
What does this have to do with eating, weight, accepting yourself as the amazing child of God that He has made you?

God is bigger…than the despair I have when I am no the size and weight I wish to be (yet). And because he is bigger, it puts all of the smaller things in their rightful place in my thoughts and actions.I have been thinking about this this week, realizing that perhaps the reason I cannot seem to break out of some habits and patterns that are holding me back from releasing weight is because of where my heart is with him, how I view him. I always see the scale as bigger than him. Then in response to that, I try to do things on my own to move the number down. After despair and frustration I remember that if Christ can help me lose 100 pounds and free my heart to love him more and more, than he can help me lose 20 pounds and free my heart again from my entanglements and over-use of the scale. I already know he's bigger — I'm just not acting in faith on that!God is bigger than…me and my heart. Praise him for that!

LOL – I can't help but think of this particular characteristic of God every time the phone rings since this song is now the ringtone on my phone :-)Glad I could contribute to it going through everyone else's head today too. It may be silly, but there's a lot of truth there. That's why it's one of my favorite songs… 🙂
